Thanks for your question - it's an important topic.

To start, in the Janitorial Module, we do not approach the process of pricing regular, recurring projects, such as the 2-3 times per week office cleaning job you described, from a perspective of what the 'going rate' is for a given city, but rather - from the standpoint of daily average cleaning time (hours/time).

From there, we calculate expense and profit considerations, and only then - recommend a monthly price.

By the way, we have proprietary sliding scales built into the Janitorial Module,that adjust automatically to the size of the job being bid on. For example, in general, overhead and profit percentages lower as the account gets bigger - and rise as the size (# of hrs. required) of the job drops. This is what the CleanBid Janitorial Module is pre-programmed to do automatically for you.

So, rather than a straight price per square foot method, the CleanBid Janitorial Module is based on a 'workloading' approach to bidding which is the process of calculating cleaning times for buildings by using measurement and floor type information along with a series of pre-programmed cleaning tasks and associated production rates.

Then, on the Price tab, we use cleaning time (Hours) as the starting point for estimating monthly price.

In this sense, the CleanBid Janitorial Module works from the 'ground up' - by first calculating a cleaning time, and only then, determining a monthly price. We prefer to rely on this approach rather than simply a price per square foot calculation.

What is the Hourly rate normally charged for an office clean. I realize it depends on the area but there has to be a norm.
